Komodo Honeymoon: Private Yacht for Two or a Private Cabin

Komodo Honeymoon Cruise | Komodo Luxury

Last updated: September 2026 · Prices & availability verified for the 2026/2027 season

Honeymoon enquiries that reach our WhatsApp desk usually ask two things: can we have a boat, or at least a cabin, to ourselves, and what does that cost for two? This guide answers both the way we answer them in chat: price basis stated, booking mechanics spelled out, nothing promised that the desk has not checked for your dates.

Quick answer: A Komodo honeymoon starts with a flight from Bali to Labuan Bajo, where you board. Couples book it two ways: a private yacht for two, priced per package for the whole boat (2027 rate card, checked 12 September 2026), or a private double cabin on a shared 3D2N departure, priced per person per voyage. Park fees are quoted separately. Start on our Komodo honeymoon cruise page.

How a Komodo honeymoon actually works

Our Komodo sailings start and end in Labuan Bajo, on Flores. For most couples the practical route is a flight from Bali (DPS) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ), about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, with several departures a day; check current fares with the airlines. On shared departures our driver collects you from your Labuan Bajo hotel between 08:00 and 09:00 and you board at the harbour; on a private charter the boarding time is set in your itinerary. For the Bali side, our guide to a Komodo honeymoon from Bali covers the flight, the villa nights and the hand-over to the boat.

Private charters run from 2D1N to 5D4N and longer; shared departures are a fixed 3D2N. On the 3D2N program most boats follow a similar tentative route: day one Kelor Island, Manjarite and Kalong Island; day two Padar Island, Komodo Island, Pink Beach and Taka Makassar or Manta Point; day three Kanawa Island, then back to Labuan Bajo. The order can change with weather, sea conditions and the Harbour Master’s instructions, and a private charter can reshuffle it around what you care about most.

Two ways couples book it

Honeymoon messages tend to fall into one of two camps, and the difference is practical rather than prestige. One couple wants the whole boat. The other wants a private cabin with its own bathroom on a shared departure, at a per-person price.

Option 1: a private yacht for two

A private charter means the entire vessel, crew and route are yours; nobody else boards. You choose the departure date and the duration, and you can ask for Padar at first light or Manta Point when the current is right. The master cabin is yours by default, and the other cabins simply stay empty.

The price basis matters. Private charter rates on the four boats in our 2027 rate card are quoted per package for the whole boat, by guest band: 1 to 8 guests on Ayvara and Naturalia, 1 to 12 on Malca and Catnazse. Two people pay the lowest band rate for the package, not a per-person rate and not a nightly rate multiplied out. Each of these boats is booked directly through the Komodo Luxury reservations desk. Compare layouts on our private trip packages page, look at Ayvara for the 1 to 8 band, or browse the private boat charter directory and the luxury phinisi in Komodo collection.

Option 2: a private cabin on a shared 3D2N departure

Shared departures, which we call open trips, run as a fixed 3D2N program, generally Friday to Sunday, with some boats also sailing Monday to Wednesday. Currently we do not run a 2D1N open trip; for one night on the water a private charter is the route. You book one cabin and share the decks and dining with other guests.

Two cabin types exist on these boats. A private cabin is booked exclusively for your party; no other guest shares it. A sharing cabin is the budget option where you may share with other travellers; sharing cabins are mixed-gender and bed assignment is decided by operations at departure. For a honeymoon we route you to a private cabin. Which private cabin is free on your dates, and whether it has a balcony, we check live and show you in the brochure, with photos, before you pay. The cabin is priced per person per 3D2N voyage; the current figure for each category sits on the open trip Komodo page and on each boat page, and single occupancy is the per-person price times two. Our note on shared versus private cabins on a Komodo open trip goes deeper, and the Komodo liveaboard page lists the boats that run these departures.

If seclusion is the point, start with the private charter pages above; if you prefer the per-person route, book a private cabin on an open trip and tell us it is a honeymoon. What a couple pays for a private yacht in 2027

These are the B2C publish rates from the JHG private charter rate card, Final Edition R04 dated 11 September 2026, 2027 edition, checked 12 September 2026. They are presented for review and are not a booking offer: itinerary, services, taxes, payment and cancellation terms are confirmed in your individual quotation. Each figure is the whole-boat package price at the lowest guest band, the band a couple pays.

Malca (1 to 12 guests)USD 5,300 / IDR 88,000,000USD 6,000 / IDR 100,000,000USD 9,000 / IDR 150,000,000

Longer packages, 5D4N and beyond, are in the same rate card. Read each figure as one package for one boat, not as a nightly rate to multiply. For late-2026 travel the 2026 edition of the same card applies, so tell us the dates first. Boats outside these four are quoted individually on request.

Generally included in our trip packages, with the exact list for your boat confirmed in its brochure and your written quotation: all meals on board with snacks at set times, coffee, tea and drinking water, snorkelling equipment with life jackets, pick-up and drop-off within the Labuan Bajo area, and the destinations in your itinerary. Not included: Komodo National Park entrance and ranger fees, arranged separately and quoted at the rate set by the park authority at the time of travel; we handle the tickets once we have each guest’s full name, passport number, gender and nationality, and tickets once bought are non-refundable. Flights, and anything the boat’s brochure lists as excluded, are also on top. The fee structure is explained on our Komodo National Park entrance fees page.

Availability, the 48-hour hold and the deposit

We check availability for your exact dates and confirm it in writing. Nothing on the website is a reservation; allocations move in real time, so an answer given on Monday can change by Wednesday if another guest confirms first.

For an open-trip cabin the sales team re-verifies availability, places a 2 x 24-hour hold during office hours (09:00 to 17:00 WITA) and sends the reservation form with your personal deposit link. The cabin is secured once that deposit is paid; if it is not received within the 48 hours, the hold is released. For a private charter the desk confirms the hold terms in writing with the quotation. Do not transfer anything before the desk has confirmed the hold, and secure the cabin before you buy flights. After the form and signed terms come back we issue the invoice, which is your confirmation; after full payment you receive the pre-departure form for pick-up details and dietary notes.

Under the published payment policy a 50% deposit secures a booking and full payment is due no later than 30 days before departure; for bookings made one year in advance the published schedule is a 30% deposit, a further 20% 120 days before the trip and the balance 30 days before departure, and the terms of the individual vessel apply to certain boats. For open-trip cabins the desk applies a 50% deposit when the departure is more than 14 days away, the balance 14 days before, and full payment inside 14 days; private-charter deposit terms are confirmed with your quotation. The schedule on your invoice governs. Bank charges are borne by the sender. Under the published policy payments are non-refundable and a booking cannot be rescheduled or transferred to another trip, though you may nominate a replacement person. Children aged 3 and above pay the full rate. See how far ahead to book a Komodo charter, how to pay safely for a Komodo charter, and the Komodo charter calendar for 2027.

Flights and the last day

On shared departures the boat docks in Labuan Bajo between 11:00 and 12:00 at the latest; on a private charter the return time is agreed in your itinerary, and we still recommend a 14:00-or-later flight unless the desk confirms an earlier margin in writing. The harbour to Komodo Airport is a 10 to 15 minute drive and our airport drop-off is part of the trip, so a same-day flight to Bali works if it departs at 14:00 or later; that margin covers the transfer, check-in and any operational delay. Send us the flight details and we arrange the transfer around them; full timings are in our note on pick-up and return times for Komodo boat tours. For Bali villa nights after the boat, the Labuan Bajo honeymoon package guide shows how we assemble that.

Padar, Pink Beach and Manta Point on a honeymoon

The three images many couples arrive with live up to the photographs when timed well, and sleeping on board makes the timing possible: a liveaboard anchors inside the park overnight, so you reach each landmark before or after the day boats.

Padar Island at first light

The climb to the ridgeline viewpoint takes many couples well under an hour, and the reward is the park’s defining panorama: three crescent bays, each a different shade of sand, beneath volcanic hills. At sunrise the trail is cool, and if your boat anchored nearby overnight you may share the summit with almost no one. It is a spot couples often plan proposals around.

Pink Beach in the late afternoon

The blush comes from fragments of red coral mixed through the white sand, and it deepens at the waterline as the light lowers. The snorkelling starts a few kicks from shore over coral gardens busy with reef fish.

Manta Point and the dragons

At the cleaning stations reef mantas glide in while small fish groom them, and snorkellers drift alongside. Sightings depend on tide and season and are never guaranteed on any date; our manta ray season guide explains when the odds improve. The ranger-guided dragon walk on Komodo or Rinca is short, well managed and fits between beaches. For more romantic stops, our earlier piece on a Komodo Island honeymoon lists nine.

Romantic touches the desk arranges on request

Tell us what you are planning and we will tell you, in writing, what the crew of your specific boat can do: a dinner for two on deck, a decorated cabin for an anniversary, a proposal timed to the Padar sunrise or a quiet stretch of Pink Beach at dusk. What is possible differs from boat to boat, so we confirm each arrangement with the vessel first and write it into your booking rather than promising it here. Your partner hears nothing from us.

Which months couples choose

The dry season runs roughly April to November, and the desk generally points honeymooners to May through September for settled seas and clear water. July and August draw many honeymoon requests, which is a reason to open the conversation early, not to assume they are gone; we check the date, we do not guess. September and October keep dry-season conditions with quieter anchorages; see Komodo in September and Komodo in October. December is the green season: lush islands, possible rain, and the Harbour Master may reroute a day, as set out in Komodo in December.

A private yacht for two or a private cabin on a shared departure: both paths begin on our Komodo honeymoon cruise page.

Questions our reservations desk hears

Do you have a private cabin for two with its own bathroom on the shared 3D2N trip?

Yes. A private cabin is booked exclusively for your party, and private cabins with their own bathroom exist on the boats that run our open trips; some also have a balcony. Whether a specific cabin is free on your dates we check live and confirm in writing, and we send the brochure with cabin photos before you pay.

If we charter a yacht for just the two of us, do we pay for the whole boat?

Yes. A private charter is priced per package for the whole vessel at the guest band you fall into, which for a couple is the lowest band (1 to 8 or 1 to 12 guests, depending on the boat). There is no per-person rate for sailing as two and the package is not divided by nights; the 2027 table above shows the exact package prices at that band.

Are Komodo National Park fees included in the honeymoon price?

No. Park entrance and ranger fees are arranged separately and quoted at the rate set by the park authority at the time of travel. We add the tickets to your invoice once we have each guest’s full name, passport number, gender and nationality; tickets once bought are non-refundable. The base price generally covers the boat, crew, meals, snorkelling gear and Labuan Bajo transfers; your boat’s brochure lists the exact inclusions.

How far in advance should we book a honeymoon sailing for July or August?

As soon as your dates are fixed. Private charter rates for 2027 are published for the four boats above, so we can quote a charter now and confirm it in writing once we have checked the boat for your dates; the year-ahead deposit schedule then applies. Next-season open-trip schedules are usually announced toward the end of the current year; tell us your window and we write the moment those departures open. We do not assume a date is gone; we check it.

Can you hold a cabin while we confirm our flights?

Yes, for 2 x 24 hours. Once you say you want to proceed, the sales team re-verifies availability during office hours, places the 48-hour hold and sends the reservation form with your personal deposit link. Use that window to book flights, then pay the deposit; if it is not received in time the cabin is released and we reconfirm availability before trying again.

What time do we get back to Labuan Bajo on the last day, and can we fly to Bali the same afternoon?

On a shared departure the boat docks between 11:00 and 12:00 at the latest; on a private charter the return time is agreed in your itinerary. The airport is a 10 to 15 minute drive and we drop you there. Book a flight departing at 14:00 or later and the same afternoon works comfortably. If you already hold an earlier ticket, tell us the date and we assess it honestly for that departure.

Which deposit and payment schedule applies if we book a private charter a year ahead?

Under the published payment policy a booking made one year in advance is confirmed with a 30% deposit, a further 20% is due 120 days before the trip, and the balance 30 days before departure; otherwise the published policy is a 50% deposit with full payment 30 days out. The terms of the individual vessel apply to certain boats and the desk confirms private-charter deposit terms with your quotation, so the schedule on your invoice is the one that binds.

Komodo rewards the couples who decide the format first, the month second and everything else after. Whether you want the whole boat or a private cabin for the two of you, send us your dates and we will check them, quote the exact package or cabin, and confirm it in writing. Our reservations desk replies on WhatsApp at +62 811 3823 875, you can begin through our contact page, and the Komodo honeymoon cruise page is where both paths start.
