Dive-focused liveaboards
Certified divers should prioritise dive-deck layout and compressor logistics over cabin count. October: the end of the dry season
October is the sweet spot for travellers who missed the mid-year peak: weather is still generally favourable, the crowds of July and August are gone, and shoulder-season availability is real. November: the transition month
November is the bridge between dry and wet seasons: early November often still feels like October, while conditions become less predictable as the month closes. Crowds stay low. For divers, November is better than its reputation — manta encounters remain strong through this window, and visibility varies site by site rather than failing across the park; crews adjust routes day by day to put you on the most sheltered sites. December: wet season, manta season
December brings the wet season: more rain, higher humidity, and passages that can turn rougher — itineraries sometimes shift toward more sheltered northern sites when the weather asks for it. It is also one of the strongest windows of the year for manta rays, which is why dedicated divers deliberately choose it. Yes. Open-trip departures are sold per cabin, and solo travellers join regularly. Options for solo occupancy or sharing depend on the specific departure and vessel, so send your dates and the team will confirm what is available.
How far in advance should we book for Christmas and New Year?
As early as you possibly can. The holiday fortnight is the first inventory to sell every year, and enquiries for those weeks start arriving many months out. If your dates are fixed, confirm the boat first and build the rest of the trip around it.
I found one of your boats on its own website — is that the same company?
Several vessels in our fleet maintain their own websites — Naturalia and Mosalaki among them — and those sites are owned and operated by Komodo Luxury, so you reach the same team either way. Can you add an extra bed, or set a cabin up as two singles instead of a queen?
Often, yes — but it is vessel- and cabin-specific. Some cabins take an extra bed or convert to twin configuration; others cannot. Tell the team who is sharing with whom and they will confirm per cabin before you commit.
We can only travel between two fixed dates. Can you check every boat at once?

Is December too rainy for a liveaboard?
No — but it is a different trip. Expect showers, plan for itinerary flexibility, and know that the same weather system that brings the rain also brings peak manta activity and the quietest anchorages of the year. When do 2027 schedules and cabins open?

What is the difference between an open trip and a private charter?
