Superyacht Charter Komodo: Signature, Prestige or a VVIP Yacht

Signature Liveaboard | Komodo Luxury

Last updated: September 2026 · Prices & availability verified for the 2026/2027 season

A typical superyacht charter Komodo enquiry looks like this: a group of twelve to twenty people, a fixed week in the dry season, and a wish for suites with private balconies rather than cabins. The questions that follow are practical: which yacht, how the price is built, what sits outside it, and what it takes to hold the dates. This page answers them the way we answer them on WhatsApp every day, with the same limit: we check availability for your exact dates and confirm everything in writing.

Quick answer: A superyacht charter in Komodo is a whole-yacht private hire from Labuan Bajo on a crewed yacht: Komodo Signature (78.2 m, 10 suites, 20 guests), Komodo Prestige (66 m, 8 suites, 16 guests) or a VVIP partner yacht. Each is priced per yacht per itinerary and quoted in writing per date; park fees are quoted separately. Start on our luxury yacht charter Komodo page.

What a superyacht charter in Komodo actually is

Lamima Yacht Cruise Komodo Charter | Komodo Luxury

It is the whole yacht, not a cabin. The vessel, the crew, the chef, the tenders and the water toys are yours for the itinerary you agree with the desk, and nobody else boards. Departure and return are at Labuan Bajo harbour, and the route inside Komodo National Park follows the itinerary in your quotation, adjusted on the day only if the Harbour Master or the weather requires it.

Two kinds of yacht carry this class of charter through Komodo Luxury. The Komodo Luxury Collection is our owned and operated fleet, and Komodo Signature and Komodo Prestige are its two superyacht-class phinisi. Alongside the Collection we offer selected partner yachts booked through the Komodo Luxury reservations desk, such as Lamima, Kudanil Explorer, Prana and Velocean. For certain vessels the vessel’s own terms apply; the desk states in writing which terms govern your charter before you pay a deposit.

Who books it: multi-generational families, groups of couples, corporate groups that want privacy, and dive groups that need instructors on board. The common thread is a headcount above ten and a preference for suites over cabins. Smaller groups are welcome; the desk will say plainly when a VIP-class phinisi on our rate card fits better.

The two Collection yachts are the first answer for most groups, because the desk holds their calendars and quotes them directly. Figures below are taken from each vessel page, checked 12 September 2026. No rates in this table; the pricing section explains why.

Komodo Prestige: 66 m, eight suites, sixteen guests

Komodo Prestige Yacht Cruise Komodo Charter | Komodo Luxury
Komodo Prestige, 66 m, eight balcony suites for up to sixteen guests | Komodo Luxury

Komodo Prestige is a 66-metre mastless phinisi with eight ocean-view suites, each with a private balcony. The design is all-white and minimalist, with floor-to-ceiling windows, open decks that run into the interior, and a wellness deck with a sunset-facing Jacuzzi. It is the yacht we suggest first when the headcount sits between ten and sixteen and every couple wants a suite of its own.

Komodo Signature: 78.2 m, ten suites, twenty guests

Komodo Signature Yacht Cruise Komodo Charter | Komodo Luxury
Komodo Signature, 78.2 m, ten balcony suites for up to twenty guests | Komodo Luxury

Komodo Signature is a 78.2-metre mastless phinisi with ten private balcony suites for up to twenty guests. The layout adds a rooftop chill pool, a bow Jacuzzi and lounge, and a formal indoor dining room to the open decks, and the service on board includes a cruise director and an executive chef. It is the answer when the headcount reaches seventeen to twenty, or when sixteen guests want two spare suites for staff or a nanny.

Both Collection yachts are documented with their principal particulars and cabin mix, alongside the six other vessels from the build programme, in the Komodo Luxury shipbuilding portfolio.

Which suits which group

  • Couples, ten to twenty guests: one couple per suite; Prestige up to eight couples, Signature up to ten.
  • Families with children: under our published terms, children aged 3 years and above are charged at the full rate. Child-sized snorkelling equipment is not provided on board, so bring your child’s own. A group of more than ten with children is quoted by a person on the desk.
  • Couples-only groups of eight or fewer: ask whether a VIP-class phinisi on the 2027 rate card fits better; smaller suites, same route.
  • Dive groups: send certification levels and the number of dives. A partner yacht with instructors and a camera station is often the better match.

When a VVIP partner yacht is the better answer

Three situations send a request to the partner side: the Collection dates are already taken, the route runs beyond Komodo (Raja Ampat, for example), or the group wants a specific layout, such as a dive deck with a camera station. These are selected partner yachts booked through the Komodo Luxury reservations desk. Where the yacht’s own terms apply, the desk states them in writing before you pay a deposit. Four examples from our VVIP selection follow, without rates, because each is quoted per date.

Lamima

Lamima Yacht Cruise Komodo Charter | Komodo Luxury
Lamima, 65.2 m, a VVIP partner yacht booked through the reservations desk | Komodo Luxury

Lamima is a 65.2-metre wooden yacht built in Sulawesi and certified by RINA, with seven staterooms for up to fourteen guests and a crew of twenty that includes PADI-certified dive instructors and Balinese spa therapists. She cruises both Komodo and Raja Ampat, the usual answer for a two-region itinerary with diving.

Kudanil Explorer

Kudanil Explorer Yacht Cruise Komodo Charter | Komodo Luxury
Kudanil Explorer, 50 m expedition yacht, a VVIP partner yacht | Komodo Luxury

Kudanil Explorer is a 50-metre expedition yacht of 1,000 GT with eight cabins, a Java spa, a sky lounge and Starlink Wi-Fi. The water toys run from jet skis and surfboards to dive gear, and she comes up when a group wants an expedition feel rather than a phinisi silhouette.

Prana by Atzaró

Prana Yacht Cruise Komodo Charter | Komodo Luxury
Prana by Atzaró, 55 m, nine suites for up to eighteen guests | Komodo Luxury

Prana by Atzaró is a 55-metre phinisi with nine suites across four decks for up to eighteen guests. Her social spaces are laid out for a large group, and she cruises Komodo, Raja Ampat and other Indonesian destinations.

Velocean

Velocean Yacht Cruise Komodo Charter | Komodo Luxury
Velocean, 52 m, ten cabins and a dive-oriented layout | Komodo Luxury

Velocean is a 52-metre purpose-built liveaboard yacht with ten cabins for eighteen guests and a crew of twenty-four. Twin engines give a cruising speed of 20 knots, the 360-degree sundeck carries a Jacuzzi, and the indoor camera station and lounge are laid out for divers, so dive-first groups usually land here.

How a superyacht-class charter is priced

Komodo Signature, Komodo Prestige and every VVIP partner yacht are priced per yacht per itinerary and quoted in writing per date. This page does not state a nightly figure for them; the desk quotes each yacht as one written figure for your itinerary and dates. Each Collection vessel page shows a nightly starting figure, while the charter itself is quoted for the whole itinerary. Send dates and a headcount, and the desk returns one written quotation per yacht. That quotation is the figure that applies.

What we can publish is the floor at the tier below. Four VIP-class phinisi sit on our 2027 private charter rate card (Final Edition 11 September 2026, R04), priced per private charter as a package by guest band. The 7D6N row is the honest reference for a whole-boat week in Komodo:

Basis: USD per private charter for the whole boat, one 7D6N package, 2027 rate card, checked 12 September 2026. Malca also carries an additional-guest row of USD 900 for 7D6N as published. The rate card states: “Rates are presented for review and are not a booking offer. Itinerary, services, taxes, payment and cancellation terms must be confirmed in the individual quotation.” These are not superyacht rates; they show where a whole-boat week starts on our own rate card, so a superyacht-class quotation has context.

What sits outside the charter figure

  • Komodo National Park fees: entrance and ranger fees are quoted separately at the rate set by the park authority; ticket prices are subject to change under the prevailing government regulations. Tickets are issued per guest for the travel dates and are non-refundable once purchased. The desk arranges them with each guest’s full name, passport number, gender and nationality, and adds them to the invoice.
  • Crew gratuities: billed separately, as the Komodo Prestige vessel page states. Where the vessel’s own terms apply, they say how gratuities are handled.
  • Diving and drinks: instructor time, tanks and equipment are quoted per yacht. Alcoholic beverages are not provided on board by default; bring your own, or the desk can arrange a purchase before departure. Coffee, tea, water and snacks are on board throughout.
  • Taxes and bank charges: taxes are stated in the quotation for the vessel; bank charges on transfers are borne by the sender.

Permits, paperwork and the Harbour Master

Flag and permits are a fair question if you have chartered elsewhere. For a charter through our desk, each yacht, Collection or partner, is quoted with the vessel’s flag and terms stated in writing, and the paperwork runs through the desk: after the deposit, the pre-departure form collects a copy of the passport bio-data page for every guest, which is used for harbour authority reporting and national park documentation and for no other purpose.

Inside the park, sailing is regulated by the Harbour Master (Syahbandar). Any decision to sail, change the route or pause operations follows the Harbour Master’s instructions, so every itinerary in a quotation is tentative and may be adjusted, substituted or reduced on the day for weather, sea conditions or an official restriction. The charter then generally still operates on an alternative route that is considered safe, and a full refund is not available for that case. If a trip cannot operate at all because of severe weather or an official closure, the force majeure clause applies: the trip may be changed or cancelled without a refund, and any reschedule is an exception the desk confirms in writing.

Park entry is managed through capacity controls. In an April 2026 announcement, Indonesia’s Ministry of Forestry described an annual quota of 365,000 visitors and said it would be reviewed as conditions change. That announcement does not confirm a 2027 allocation, so the desk checks entry availability for your dates rather than promising it.

Getting to the yacht: Komodo Airport, Labuan Bajo harbour and Golo Mori

Lamima Yacht Cruise Komodo Charter | Komodo Luxury

The charter begins and ends at Labuan Bajo harbour on Flores. Komodo Airport (LBJ) is about 10 to 15 minutes from the harbour by road, and most guests fly in from Bali, a flight of roughly an hour and a quarter. Confirm schedules with the airline for your dates; the desk can ticket the flights together with the sailing so the two match.

Day one: our driver collects you at your Labuan Bajo hotel (or at the airport if agreed in advance) and brings you to the harbour; the driver contacts you that morning, and the group is added to a WhatsApp group the day before. We recommend arriving in Labuan Bajo the day before the charter starts. On the last day the yacht is usually back alongside between 11:00 and 12:00, and we advise a departing flight at 14:00 or later; on a private charter the desk can write a different return time into the itinerary, within the vessel’s schedule.

Private jets and helicopters: tell the desk your aircraft type and routing. Whether an aircraft can operate into Komodo Airport on your dates is confirmed with your flight operator, and helicopter transfers and other custom add-ons are quoted by a person on the desk. See our guides to private jet and helicopter travel between Bali and Labuan Bajo and Komodo Airport transport options.

If your arrival plan mentions Golo Mori, note that for our charters the boarding point remains Labuan Bajo harbour. If your arrival plan involves another point, tell the desk before the quotation is issued so the transfer is written into it.

Season and how far ahead to reserve

For the dry season we generally recommend May to September, for sunny weather and snorkelling visibility. Peak weeks are decided by the calendar of that one yacht, so there is no useful rule of thumb about lead time. Send dates as soon as they are firm. We do not promise availability; we check it per date and confirm it in writing.

Our published payment terms include a schedule for bookings made a year ahead. From the Payment and Billing Policy: a 50% down payment is required to secure a booking, and full payment must be made no later than 30 days prior to the departure date. For bookings made one year in advance, a 30% deposit is required to confirm the charter, an additional 20% must be paid 120 days before the trip, and the remaining balance is due 30 days before departure. The terms and conditions of the respective vessel will apply to certain vessels; the desk states in writing which schedule governs your charter.

A hold runs 2 x 24 hours. The desk reconfirms availability during office hours (09:00 to 17:00 WITA), places the hold, and sends the reservation form with your deposit link; the booking is valid once that link is sent and the deposit is made, so please do not pay before the hold is confirmed. Under the cancellation policy, 100% of the payment is forfeited and non-refundable, bookings are non-changeable once paid, and a participant who cannot travel may nominate a replacement person. Force majeure may change or cancel the trip without a refund, and late arrival on a private trip shortens the itinerary rather than extending the charter. Read the full text on our terms and conditions page before you pay.

How the reservations desk builds your quotation

Send these six things and you get a usable quotation on the first reply rather than a list of questions:

  1. Dates and headcount, including children’s ages. Children aged 3 years and above are charged at the full rate.
  2. Route and length. Komodo only, or Komodo with Raja Ampat or another region. A multi-week or custom route is handled by a person on the desk; our private yacht charter Komodo page shows how a custom itinerary is put together.
  3. Suite preferences. Couples per suite, family suites, staff or nanny cabins.
  4. Dietary needs. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, no pork and no seafood are accommodated without extra charge unless special procurement is needed; a severe allergy is confirmed with the yacht’s management before booking.
  5. Diving. Certification levels and how many dives you have in mind.
  6. Special requests. Helicopter arrivals, a photographer, an event set-up on deck, or separate drinks billing per family. All quoted by a person.

You receive one written quotation per yacht and date, with park fees, gratuities and taxes on their own lines. After the deposit, the pre-departure form collects passport details for the park tickets, pickup details and dietary information for every guest.

Questions our reservations desk hears

Do we need to arrange the yacht’s flag, permits or harbour paperwork ourselves for a paid charter in Komodo?

No. Each yacht we quote, Collection or partner, is quoted with the vessel’s flag and terms stated in writing. After the deposit, the pre-departure form collects a copy of the passport bio-data page for every guest; it is used for harbour authority reporting and national park documentation only. On the day, sailing inside the park follows the Harbour Master’s instructions, so the itinerary in your quotation is tentative.

What is the difference between Komodo Signature, Komodo Prestige and a VVIP partner yacht for a group of sixteen?

Sixteen guests fill Komodo Prestige exactly, one couple per suite in eight balcony suites. Komodo Signature gives the same group ten suites, so two stay free for staff or late guests. A partner yacht such as Prana or Velocean carries eighteen, with the governing terms stated in writing. The desk quotes each in writing for your dates.

Is a superyacht charter in Komodo priced by the night, by the week or per itinerary, and can you send a figure before we fix dates?

Per yacht per itinerary, quoted in writing per date. Before dates are fixed we can send the Collection spec sheets and the 2027 rate-card package rows for the VIP-class phinisi as a floor. A superyacht-class figure needs dates, headcount and route, because it changes with all three.

How far ahead should we reserve a superyacht for July or August, and what deposit applies to a booking made a year in advance?

Send the dates as soon as they are firm; we check the yacht’s calendar and confirm in writing rather than quoting a lead time. For a booking made one year in advance the published schedule is a 30% deposit, a further 20% at 120 days before the trip and the balance 30 days before departure; the standard schedule is 50% and the balance 30 days before. Vessel terms apply to certain vessels.

Can we arrive by private jet or helicopter, and where do we board the yacht: Labuan Bajo harbour or Golo Mori?

Both are possible with planning. Aircraft suitability at Komodo Airport is confirmed with your flight operator, and helicopter transfers are quoted by the desk. Boarding for our charters is at Labuan Bajo harbour, about 10 to 15 minutes from the airport; if your arrival plan involves another point, tell the desk before the quotation is issued.

Are Komodo National Park fees and crew gratuities included in a superyacht charter price?

No. Park entrance and ranger fees are quoted separately at the rate set by the park authority, issued per guest for your dates and non-refundable once purchased. Crew gratuities are billed separately, as the Komodo Prestige page states; where the vessel’s own terms apply, they say how gratuities are handled.

Can a superyacht-class charter combine Komodo with Raja Ampat, and does the crew and chef come with the yacht?

Yes to both. The crew, the chef and, on the Collection yachts, the cruise director come with the yacht for the whole itinerary. Lamima and Prana cruise both Komodo and Raja Ampat, and Raja Ampat itineraries start from Sorong. A two-region or multi-week route is quoted by a person; our Komodo to Raja Ampat guide explains the transit.

If you are planning a superyacht-class charter in Komodo, send the desk your dates, headcount and route, and we will come back with one written quotation per yacht, park fees and gratuities stated on their own lines. Start with the fleet and the process on our luxury yacht charter Komodo page, and we will confirm availability for your exact dates in writing.
