A Komodo boat trip price with Komodo Luxury (Labuan Bajo, since 2015) covers the vessel and crew, a guide, every meal, water, coffee and tea, snorkelling gear, life vests and crew footage. Pick-up within Labuan Bajo is included too. It does not cover the Komodo National Park ticket, drinks, snacks, crew gratuities or flights. Our reservations desk answers this question most days, and the answer is the same for a shared open-trip cabin and a whole-boat private charter. This guide lists each line, the government charges outside the price, the galley, what you may bring, and how payment works.
Quick answer (24 September 2026): included: vessel, crew, guide, all meals, water, coffee and tea, snorkelling gear, life vests, crew footage, pick-up within Labuan Bajo. Not included: the park ticket (PP 36/2024, billed per person on your invoice), drinks, snacks, crew gratuities, flights, drone permit. A 50% deposit secures your dates; the balance date is printed on your invoice.

What is included in a Komodo boat trip price?
The same inclusion list applies to both trip formats. A Komodo open trip is a scheduled shared sailing of three days and two nights, sold per cabin, on a fixed Friday-to-Sunday or Monday-to-Wednesday rhythm. A private charter is the whole boat for your group alone, priced per package by guest band, on dates you choose.
Both formats include your cabin or the whole vessel, the captain and crew, a guide, all meals, mineral water, coffee and tea, snorkelling equipment and life vests. Crew photo and video (raw footage) and Labuan Bajo hotel or airport transfers are included too. A cabin on a shared 3D2N Komodo open trip starts from USD 300 per person (Malca, 2026 and 2027 published rate). A whole-boat private charter starts from USD 6,000 per 3D2N package (Malca, 1 to 12 guests, 2026 and 2027 rate cards, Final Edition 11 September 2026, checked 24 September 2026). Park charges are quoted separately.

From our reservations desk. Of 11,254 guest messages to our concierge desk (2025 to 2026), 529 messages across 301 conversations asked what the price includes. The narrower questions: is the park ticket included (126 messages, 94 conversations). Is snorkelling gear included (65 / 50). What food is served (414 / 239). Can we bring alcohol (51 / 30). Is the food halal (8 / 5). This post answers them in that order.
Is the Komodo National Park ticket included, and how much is it?
No. The Komodo National Park ticket is excluded from the trip price, set by government regulation, billed as its own line per person and confirmed by our desk. The tariff is set under PP 36/2024 as displayed by the Balai: IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day, IDR 50,000 per Indonesian visitor per day (IDR 75,000 on Sundays and public holidays). Our desk registers guests, pays the park and lists the park line separately on the invoice; the invoice figure applies. Purchased tickets are non-refundable.
Since 22 September 2026 the park authority requires entry on the date printed on the e-ticket (Balai Taman Nasional Komodo, announcement PG.46/T.17/TU/KSA.04.01/B/09/2026). The quota is the park’s, confirmed at registration for your dates. No operator can promise quota. Once your dates are fixed, send each guest’s full name as in the passport, passport number and nationality; we register the tickets and confirm in writing. See our park quota update note of 22 September 2026.
Flying a drone inside the park needs its own permit, a government charge of IDR 2,000,000 per unit per day on the same PP 36/2024 table. It is optional: ask the desk at least seven days before departure, and read our guide to getting a drone permit in Komodo National Park. Drinks beyond water, coffee and tea, snacks and crew gratuities are yours, and you book your own flights. Taxes and fees apply as stated in your quotation.
What food is served on board, and can the chef cook halal, vegetarian or allergy-aware meals?
Every meal during the trip is included. On a 3D2N sailing that is six meals: three breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners, with snacks at set times and water, coffee and tea throughout. The menu is planned per departure by the boat’s chef; ask the desk for the current sample menu of your boat.
The galley cooks no pork and halal-style by default. It is not described as certified; a guest who needs certified catering should tell the desk so we confirm with the boat before booking. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, no-seafood and allergy-aware meals are prepared at no extra charge when they need no special provisioning. Give each guest’s requirements on the pre-departure form, sent once payment is complete, so provisioning is done in time. Severe allergies are confirmed with the boat’s management before booking.
Can we bring beer and wine on board, and is there ice, a fridge and Wi-Fi?
Alcoholic and soft drinks are not provided by default and are not part of any trip price. You are welcome to bring your own. If you send your list in advance, the desk arranges a purchase in Labuan Bajo before departure and quotes it separately. For a shop stop on departure morning, ask whether it fits the pick-up sequence.
Ice and a fridge for guest drinks differ by vessel, so tell the desk what you plan to bring and we confirm with the crew rather than promise in general. Kayaks and paddleboards are likewise listed per boat. Our own four boats, Malca, Ayvara, Catnazse and Naturalia, carry Starlink, with signal strength that varies by location. Every cabin is air-conditioned with a private bathroom; Malca carries a jacuzzi, and several cabins on each boat have a private balcony. Bring your own toiletries and a beach towel; the desk confirms cabin amenities and charging points per boat.
Is snorkelling gear included, and what about children’s sizes?
Yes. Mask, snorkel and fins are provided on board, and life jackets are available for every guest; the crew and guide stay close in the water. Child-sized gear for children under 10 is not carried, so bring your child’s own fitted mask, snorkel and fins. Children are welcome on shared and private sailings under full parental supervision; the child rate is confirmed by the desk when you send ages. Open trips are snorkel-only; diving is a private dive charter quoted by the desk, as our note on diving on a Komodo open trip explains.
Is hotel or airport pick-up included, and what time does it run?
Yes, within Labuan Bajo. On day one the driver collects you from your hotel or the airport between 08:00 and 09:00 WITA. Pick-ups run in a staggered sequence, so a short wait is normal. The desk confirms the window in a WhatsApp group the evening before, and the driver calls you on the morning itself. Transfers cover the Labuan Bajo mainland near the harbour only; accommodation on other islands or in the Manjaga area is outside the pick-up zone. We recommend arriving the day before; guests arriving on the day must be in town and ready by 09:00.
On the last day a scheduled 3D2N sailing docks between 11:00 and 12:00, and drop-off to your hotel or the airport (10 to 15 minutes from the harbour) is included. For a same-day flight home the desk recommends a departure at 14:00 or later. A private charter’s return time follows its agreed itinerary. Ask for it in writing before you book onward flights; our post on Komodo boat tour pick-up and return times has the full timetable.
How do the deposit and balance work?
The five steps are the same for a cabin and a whole boat; no money moves before availability and price are confirmed in writing. Most guests book about two months ahead.
- Send your dates. Tell the desk your dates, the number of guests including children, and any boat preference. We check availability for your exact dates and confirm it in writing.
- Receive the quotation. The desk replies with the boats or cabins open on your dates, their prices and the Terms and Conditions; a private charter comes with a route.
- Ask for a hold if you need one. A cabin can be held for 2 x 24 hours (48 hours) while you book flights; a private-charter hold is set by the desk per booking. Reservations cannot be confirmed until the payment is received.
- Pay the 50% deposit. The desk sends a card payment link or the account details for a direct transfer; our guide to paying for a Komodo boat tour from abroad covers currencies and fees. Once verified, the invoice is your booking confirmation.
- Settle the balance by the date printed on your invoice. The desk sends the link and a reminder; the balance cannot be paid in cash on departure day. After full payment we send the pre-departure form for pick-up, dietary needs and flight details.
Payments are non-refundable per the booking terms on your invoice and our terms and conditions page; whether a replacement guest can travel in your place is confirmed by the desk case by case.
What happens if the weather changes?
The captain has final authority over the sailing plan, and the Harbour Master regulates all sailing from Labuan Bajo, so any itinerary is tentative and may change with sea conditions. Adverse weather is force majeure under our Terms and Conditions: the itinerary may be changed or reduced, or the sailing rescheduled, and payments then follow the booking terms on your invoice and our T&C page. Confirm any new date in writing before you rebook flights.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Komodo National Park fee included in the trip price?
No. The park ticket is a government charge under PP 36/2024 as displayed by the Balai: IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day and IDR 50,000 per Indonesian visitor per day. It sits outside every Komodo Luxury trip price. Our desk registers the dated ticket, pays the park and shows it as its own line per person on your invoice.
What is included in a Komodo boat trip price?
Your cabin or the whole boat, captain and crew, a guide, all meals, mineral water, coffee and tea, snorkelling gear, life vests, crew photo and video footage, and pick-up and drop-off within Labuan Bajo. The list is the same for an open-trip cabin and a private charter under the Komodo Luxury Terms and Conditions.
Is the food on board halal, and can the chef cater for vegetarian or gluten-free guests?
The galley cooks no pork and halal-style by default; it is not described as certified, so ask the desk if certified catering matters to you. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, no-seafood and allergy-aware meals are prepared at no extra charge when they need no special provisioning. Give requirements on the pre-departure form so the chef can plan.
Can we bring our own beer and wine, and is there ice on board?
Yes. Alcoholic and soft drinks are not provided by default and are not part of any trip price, so bring your own. Send your list in advance and the desk can arrange a purchase before departure, quoted separately. Ice and a fridge for guest drinks differ by vessel, so the desk confirms them for your boat.
Is there Wi-Fi on board, and what should we bring?
Malca, Ayvara, Catnazse and Naturalia carry Starlink, so you stay connected at sea; signal varies by location; for other boats the desk confirms. Every cabin on our four boats is air-conditioned with a private bathroom. Bring your own toiletries and a beach towel; for cabin amenities and charging points, ask the desk what your boat provides.
Is snorkelling gear included for children?
Adult mask, snorkel and fins are provided on board, and life jackets are available for every guest. Child-sized snorkelling gear for children under 10 is not carried, so bring your child’s own fitted mask, snorkel and fins. Tell the desk the children’s ages so the crew can prepare life jackets.
