What is included in a Komodo boat charter?
A private whole-boat charter with Komodo Luxury includes the entire vessel and crew: air-conditioned cabins, captain and full crew, a private chef with all meals on board, drinking water, snorkelling equipment, and the standard itinerary stops inside Komodo National Park. Rates are quoted per boat per night — not per person — so the price covers your whole group up to the vessel’s capacity.
What is NOT included?
Komodo National Park entrance and ranger fees are charged separately at the government rate applying on your travel date, and are paid per guest. VVIP and superyacht charters may carry 11–12% VAT. Alcohol, crew gratuities and hotel transfers outside Labuan Bajo are also quoted separately. Always check the written quotation — the figure confirmed in writing is the one that applies.
How does booking and payment work?
A 50% deposit secures your boat and dates; the balance is due no later than 30 days before departure. If your departure is less than 30 days away, full payment confirms the booking. Children aged 3 and above are counted at the full rate on shared departures.
What happens if the weather changes?
The captain has final authority over the sailing plan. In rough conditions the crew re-orders stops or shelters in calmer bays inside the park rather than cancelling the trip — Komodo’s islands offer protected anchorages in most winds. Your cruise director will always discuss changes with you first.
Can we request special meals — halal, vegetarian, allergies?
Yes. Menus are prepared per charter, and the chef routinely cooks halal, vegetarian, vegan and allergy-aware menus. Tell the team your requirements when booking so provisioning in Labuan Bajo is arranged before departure.
Is a Komodo charter suitable for children?
Private charters are the format most families choose: the crew knows exactly who is on board, the pace follows your group, and life jackets in children’s sizes are prepared when you tell us ages in advance.
