Komodo Luxury Liveaboard: Luxury Diving Cruises in Komodo National Park

Komodo Liveaboard Diving | Luxury Liveaboard Cruises

A Komodo liveaboard is a 2- to 10-night dive and snorkel cruise sleeping aboard a crewed yacht inside Komodo National Park, sailing from Labuan Bajo. It suits certified divers, snorkellers and private groups. Komodo Luxury publishes rates from USD 300 per person for a cabin on a shared departure, or from USD 3,250 per night for the whole boat. Komodo Luxury is one of Labuan Bajo’s leading Komodo liveaboard operators, running multi‑day luxury diving cruises through Komodo National Park since 2015. A Komodo Luxury liveaboard with us means living aboard a dedicated dive yacht — sleeping in ensuite cabins, dining on chef‑prepared meals, and stepping straight from the deck into some of Indonesia’s richest reefs. The most-booked route is the Komodo liveaboard 3 days 2 nights (3D2N) itinerary, followed by 4D3N and week-long crossings.

Our 3D2N to 10D9N itineraries take you far beyond what day trips can reach, with up to four guided dives or snorkel sessions a day at sites like Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, and Manta Alley. Led by experienced, PADI‑certified dive professionals and supported by comfortable boats, attentive crew, and safety‑first standards, Komodo Luxury liveaboards are designed for certified divers, snorkelers, underwater photographers, and luxury travelers who want to maximize time on the water — not in transit. Take a cabin on a shared departure, or the whole boat as a private luxury liveaboard in Komodo — every Komodo Island liveaboard departs from Labuan Bajo.

What Is a Komodo Liveaboard? | Komodo Luxury

What Is a Komodo Liveaboard?

A Komodo liveaboard is a multi‑day dive cruise where you sleep, eat, and dive directly from a yacht based inside Komodo National Park, instead of returning to shore each day. Unlike day trips from Labuan Bajo, a liveaboard komodo allows you to:

  • Dive 2–4 times per day

  • Access remote dive sites unreachable by speedboats

  • Experience sunrise, sunset, and night dives

  • Wake up directly above iconic reefs and manta cleaning stations

Komodo Luxury runs fully private liveaboard charters for your own group, with semi‑private options on select departures for smaller groups or solo travelers. It’s an ideal way to travel for certified divers, keen snorkelers, underwater photographers, and luxury travelers who want maximum time in the water and minimal time in transit.

Why Choose a Komodo Liveaboard?

A Komodo liveaboard offers the most immersive way to explore Komodo National Park through a multi-day scuba diving cruise—far beyond what day trips can deliver.

Komodo National Park is home to more than 10 world‑class dive sites that are best accessed on a multi‑day Komodo liveaboard with Komodo Luxury, allowing you to reach remote pinnacles, manta cleaning stations, and sheltered bays that day boats rarely visit. As part of your luxury diving liveaboard, you'll experience:

Which Komodo liveaboard is best for you?

Best for solo divers & couples on a budget

A cabin on a shared departure. Ahsana Liveaboard from USD 300 per person, Magika Liveaboard from USD 310, Sundari from USD 330 — the same reefs and the same crew as a private charter, at roughly a tenth of the whole-boat rate.

Best for a dedicated dive group

Magika Liveaboard, the only vessel in the fleet with a published diving rate card: 3D2N from USD 9,500 and 5D4N from USD 15,750 for the whole boat, 2026 rates. Arfisyana 2 (USD 4,700 per night, up to 22 guests) gives the lowest cost per diver on larger groups.

Best for families and mixed snorkel groups

Balaraja or Flores Utama from USD 3,400 per night, and Naturalia at USD 7,800 per night for up to 24 guests. Enough cabins for three generations, calm snorkel sites at Siaba and Manjarite while the certified divers work the pinnacles.

Best for groups of 20–28

Mutiara Cruise Phinisi (47 m, 10 cabins, up to 28 guests, USD 8,250 per night) or Lasha Phinisi Cruise (52.5 m, 10 cabins, up to 26 guests, USD 10,800 per night) — both keep the per-person cost of a private liveaboard close to a shared cabin.

Best for remote and southern Komodo routes

Kudanil Explorer (50 m steel expedition hull, 8 cabins, USD 26,000 per night + 12% VAT). Range and stabilisation to reach Manta Alley and the southern sites on a 5D4N or longer itinerary, in conditions day boats and smaller phinisi will not attempt.

Best for a flagship charter

Lamima (65.2 m, 7 cabins, 14 guests, USD 27,000 per night + 11% VAT) or Prana (55 m, 9 cabins, 18 guests, USD 20,000 per night) — the two largest luxury sailing phinisi operating out of Labuan Bajo.

Not every group wants a dive-first schedule. Guests who care more about the hand-built ironwood hull and the sail rig than about tank counts usually charter a traditional Indonesian phinisi sailing under canvas, where the same crews run a slower, more topside-led route through the same anchorages. Groups who want the whole vessel to themselves on a shorter, tighter schedule should compare whole-boat private charter pricing out of Labuan Bajo.

Divers who finish a Komodo circuit and want the next step almost always look east. The same fleet and dive team operate extended Raja Ampat cruise itineraries on 6D5N to 10D9N routes, where the trade is fewer strong-current pinnacles for a far higher species count. For travellers still deciding between a multi-night cruise and a series of day sailings, the shorter Komodo boat tour departures cover the signature circuit without the overnight commitment.

Choose Your Itinerary

The duration ladder, one line each: 3D2N — the signature loop; 4D3N — adds Rinca; 7D6N — adds the north dive sites and Flores coast; 9D8N — adds Sangeang and Banta; 11D10N — the full expedition; Komodo to Sumbawa — the crossing.

Diving from Your Komodo Liveaboard

Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, Crystal Rock and Manta Alley anchor the dive programme from 7D6N upward; gear, divemaster and site windows are arranged at booking. Not certified? Every site pairs with a snorkel alternative.

Snorkeling on Every Itinerary

Pink Beach's shallow reef, Taka Makassar's sandbar lagoon, Siaba Besar's turtles and the Manta Point drift — all four sit on every route from 3D2N up, no certification required.

Liveaboard Seasons into 2027

The 2027 liveaboard calendar is open across the duration ladder above — and multi-night departures are the first to close, because cabins compound: one family booking removes four cabins at once. September-December 2026 remains the quiet stretch our crews recommend to returning guests: smaller groups, and mantas still at Karang Makassar (Komodo in September).

Frequently Asked Questions

A Komodo liveaboard with Komodo Luxury is a multi‑day private yacht cruise where you sleep, dine, and dive directly from a dedicated dive yacht based inside Komodo National Park. Instead of commuting from Labuan Bajo each day, you stay on board for 3–10 nights, waking up above world‑class reefs and manta cleaning stations with up to four guided dives or snorkel sessions daily.

Day trips and land‑based diving return to shore after one or two sites, limiting how far you can travel and which dives you can reach at ideal tide and light. A Komodo liveaboard lets you arrive at Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, Shotgun, and Manta Alley at the right moment—sunrise, slack tide, or night—unlocking sites that are impractical or impossible for day boats.

Komodo Luxury liveaboards are designed primarily for certified divers, underwater photographers, keen snorkelers, and luxury travelers who want to maximize time on the water. They are also well‑suited to small private groups—families, friends, photography teams—who value privacy, a fixed yacht for their group, and a dive‑centric schedule.
Komodo Luxury operates itineraries from 3D2N to 10D9N, with shorter cruises focusing on the “signature circuit” and longer voyages adding more remote pinnacles, bays, and southern or northern routes. Even on a 3D2N program, you can expect multiple dives per day and a carefully sequenced itinerary that includes turtles, mantas, dragons, and iconic views.
Typical itineraries include Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, Manta Point or Manta Alley, Siaba (turtle meadows), and vibrant reefs around Sebayur, Kanawa, and Manjarite. Many programs also integrate topside highlights—Padar sunrise ridge, Pink Beach, Kelor hill, Komodo or Rinca ranger treks, and Kalong’s flying‑fox exodus at dusk.
Yes, the fleet is structured into VVIP, VIP, and Deluxe categories: VVIP yachts such as Lamima, Prana, or Kudanil Explorer offer superyacht‑level comfort, while VIP and Deluxe vessels pair strong diving facilities with more accessible pricing. All categories meet Komodo Luxury’s standards for safety, comfort, and professional dive operations, but differ in cabin count, suite size, and onboard amenities.
Komodo liveaboards can be adapted for families with older children who are confident swimmers or junior divers, especially on private yacht charters where the route and pace are tailored to the group. For very young children or non‑swimmers, a mixed program (liveaboard plus gentler boat tours) is often recommended so days can balance diving with easy snorkel sites and beach time.
Yes, many Komodo liveaboard itineraries are snorkel‑friendly at sites such as Siaba, Manjarite, Sebayur, and Kanawa, where shallow reefs and turtle meadows are accessible from the surface. At more advanced current sites, snorkelers can stay aboard or visit alternative calm locations while divers enjoy deeper drift or seamount dives.
Both are world‑class, but Komodo is renowned for high‑energy currents, mantas, and dramatic topography, while Raja Ampat is famous for sheer species diversity and remote archipelagos. Many guests sail Komodo first for its accessibility and then book Raja Ampat liveaboards with Komodo Luxury once they’re comfortable with multi‑day yacht‑based diving.
The best Komodo liveaboard in 2026 depends on how you dive and travel. For maximum space, the 78.2 m Komodo Signature and 66 m Komodo Prestige lead our owned & operated fleet; Ayvara and Catnazse suit dive-focused private groups; boutique options like Naturalia and Pinta fit couples and smaller parties. All 9 owned & operated vessels are listed separately from our 200+ vetted partner yachts, so you always know which standard applies. For a ranked, data-based comparison — by diving, family, honeymoon, and group use — see our guide to the best Komodo yachts by use case.
Yes — 3D2N is enough to cover Komodo's headline sites: Batu Bolong, Manta Alley (Makassar Reef), a Padar Island sunrise hike, Pink Beach, and a ranger-guided dragon trek, with up to four dive or snorkel sessions a day. It is the right length for first-timers and mixed diver-snorkeler groups. Choose 4D3N–5D4N if you want the dawn slots at Castle Rock and Crystal Rock, night dives, or the quieter northern anchorages; dedicated divers who want the full circuit should look at 6D5N and longer itineraries.
Yes. All Komodo Luxury liveaboards board at Labuan Bajo, one hour's direct flight from Bali (DPS–LBJ) with multiple daily departures. Fly out on a morning flight and you can be on deck before lunch; we arrange the airport pickup and harbour transfer, and advise which flights line up with your boarding window. Many guests bookend the cruise with Bali stays on either side — we time disembarkation so you comfortably make an afternoon flight back.

Komodo Luxury runs 2D1N to 10D9N liveaboard itineraries from Labuan Bajo. 3D2N covers the signature circuit — Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Manta Point, Siaba. 4D3N adds Batu Bolong, Castle Rock and Crystal Rock at correct tide. 5D4N and longer reach Manta Alley and the southern sites that day boats cannot serve.

Komodo is closer, less costly to reach and delivers high-energy currents, mantas and dramatic topography on itineraries as short as 3D2N. Raja Ampat is remoter and stronger on sheer species diversity, and generally needs 6 to 10 nights to justify the journey. Most guests sail Komodo first, then move on to Raja Ampat once they are comfortable with yacht-based diving.
