Bali is the corridor most of our international guests use, and the one with the most departures in a day. Kuala Lumpur is one international origin that has had a nonstop to Labuan Bajo in recent seasons. When it has operated it has run on limited days per week as a seasonal service, so verify it at booking; if it is not on sale for your date, connect through Bali or Jakarta. What arrival time works for day 1 of a Komodo boat trip?
The desk rule is simple: land in Labuan Bajo the day before the boat departs. On a shared 3D2N open trip the driver collects guests between 08:00 and 09:00 WITA from hotels in Labuan Bajo town, in a staggered round, and the boat sails from the harbour after that. The driver contacts you on the morning itself, and everyone on the departure is added to a WhatsApp group the day before so that any timing change reaches you directly.
Landing the afternoon before means the only thing between you and the pickup is a night in a hotel a few minutes from the harbour. Landing the same morning means a delayed aircraft, slow bags or a missed connection in Bali becomes a missed boat, because the shared departure runs to its schedule for everyone on board. Any flight that lands the day before works: morning arrivals give you an afternoon in town, late-afternoon arrivals are fine as long as you are in Labuan Bajo by evening. Book the cabin first, then the flights
The order the desk gives every guest: confirm the cabin, then buy the tickets. Shared open trips run as a 3D2N program on a fixed pattern, with regular departures Friday to Sunday and a more limited set of Monday to Wednesday departures on selected boats. Your flight home on the last day
On the last day of a 3D2N trip the boat docks in Labuan Bajo between 11:00 and 12:00 WITA at the latest, the harbour to airport drive is about 10 to 15 minutes, and drop-off at the airport is arranged for you. The desk’s recommendation is a departure at 14:00 or later, whether you are flying to Bali or Jakarta. If your flight is delayed, cancelled or the airport closes
Send the desk your inbound flight number when you book, and again if it changes. By the day before departure you are already in the WhatsApp group with the operations team and the driver, so a delay reaches the people who can act on it. Where a late arrival can still be absorbed, the driver’s round is adjusted; where it cannot, we tell you as early as we know.
Under the published terms, the operator is not liable for changes or cancellations caused by tight travel schedules, or by baggage delayed, lost or damaged by airlines and other transport providers; flight cancellation is treated as force majeure.
