Which airports have flights to Labuan Bajo (Komodo Airport)?
Komodo Airport, code LBJ, sits on the edge of Labuan Bajo town at the western tip of Flores. Commercial flights land here, not on Komodo Island; the park is reached by boat from the harbour, 10 to 15 minutes away by car. The airport holds international status, and two carriers have published nonstop services: Scoot from Singapore and AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur. Long-haul routes land in Bali (DPS) or Jakarta (CGK), so most overseas guests connect there. The table is how the desk describes each corridor, not a timetable.

From Bali (Denpasar): the corridor with the most departures
Bali is the corridor most of our international guests use and the one with the most departures in a day. That matters when something goes wrong: a cancelled morning flight from Denpasar tends to have a same-day alternative; a cancelled regional flight often does not. If your long-haul flight arrives in Bali, sleep there rather than connecting straight through; a late inbound into Denpasar is how guests miss the last Labuan Bajo departure. From Jakarta and Surabaya
A nonstop from Soekarno-Hatta (CGK) has operated in recent seasons, about 2 hours 30 minutes in the air and with fewer departures than Bali. Check the airline’s schedule for your date; a connection via Bali may be needed. Seats at the preferred time fill earlier in high season, so book the leg once your cabin is confirmed. From Singapore with Scoot and from Kuala Lumpur with AirAsia
Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are the two international origins with published nonstop flights to Labuan Bajo: Scoot from Singapore (SIN) and AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur (KUL), each on selected days rather than daily. The days, the aircraft and the block time are set by the airline and change by season, so we do not reproduce them. Take the schedule as published by the airline for your date and check it before you pay. From Lombok, Kupang, Bima, Ende, Makassar and Maumere
Regional services into LBJ run on smaller aircraft and their days change within a season. Kupang is a short hop inside East Nusa Tenggara; Lombok, Bima, Ende, Makassar and Maumere have all had services at various points. Treat each as a route to verify; same-day alternatives are thin, so the day-before rule matters more here. What arrival time works for day 1 of a Komodo boat trip?
Land in Labuan Bajo the day before the boat departs. On a shared 3D2N open trip the driver collects guests between 08:00 and 09:00 WITA from hotels in Labuan Bajo town, in a staggered round, and the boat sails after that. The desk confirms the window in a WhatsApp group the evening before, and the driver calls you on the morning itself.
Landing the same morning turns a delayed aircraft, slow bags or a missed connection in Bali into a missed boat, because the shared departure runs to its schedule for everyone on board. If you already hold a same-morning ticket, send the desk your flight number and date. A team member reviews it case by case and tells you plainly whether it is workable; it is a review, not an allowance.
Meeting you at arrivals on the day you land is a separate transfer arranged on request. The included pickup is the departure-morning round from hotels in the town area, so send the hotel name when you book. Private charters are the exception: on a whole-boat private charter the departure and return are set around your group, so a same-day arrival can be planned in rather than gambled on.
In what order should I book the cabin and the flights?
The cabin first, then the flights. A Komodo open trip is a scheduled shared sailing of three days and two nights, sold per cabin, on a fixed Friday-to-Sunday or Monday-to-Wednesday rhythm. A Bali to Labuan Bajo ticket can be bought for almost any day; a specific cabin on a specific departure cannot. The desk’s sequence:
- Send your dates and guest count. Include children and any boat preference. We check availability for your exact dates and confirm it in writing; nothing is reserved yet.
- Ask for the hold. The sales team re-verifies the cabin, places a 2×24-hour hold during office hours (09:00 to 17:00 WITA) and sends your deposit link.
- Pay the deposit. The cabin is secured the moment the deposit is made; the balance falls due on the balance date printed on your invoice. The Komodo National Park ticket is excluded from the trip price, set by government regulation, billed as its own line per person and confirmed by our desk.
- Buy the flights. Now open the airline site. Buying flights before the hold is confirmed is how guests end up with a ticket and no cabin on their preferred weekend.
- Send the flight numbers. Inbound and outbound, and again if they change. Our desk registers the park e-ticket for your sailing dates. Since 22 September 2026 the park requires entry on the ticketed date, so a date change means registering again, as set out in our Komodo National Park quota update.

Which flight home can I book on the last day?
A departure at 14:00 or later, to Bali or Jakarta alike. On the last day of a 3D2N the boat docks in Labuan Bajo between 11:00 and 12:00 at the latest, the drive to the airport is 10 to 15 minutes, and drop-off is included. A shared boat cannot promise an earlier docking; if you hold an earlier ticket, tell us before you travel. On a private charter the docking time is confirmed in writing before you buy a same-day flight. For Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, check that the nonstop departs LBJ after 14:00 on your date; otherwise overnight in Bali or Jakarta.
What happens if my flight is delayed, cancelled or the airport closes?
Send the desk your inbound flight number when you book, and again if it changes. By the day before departure you are in the WhatsApp group with the operations team and the driver, so a delay reaches the people who can act on it. Where a late arrival can be absorbed, the driver’s round is adjusted; where it cannot, we tell you as early as we know.

At the Labuan Bajo end, the Harbour Master regulates all sailing, so any itinerary is tentative and may change with sea conditions. What time should I land in Labuan Bajo on day 1 of my boat trip?
Arrive the day before rather than on day 1. Pickup from hotels in Labuan Bajo town runs between 08:00 and 09:00 WITA, so any flight landing the previous day works. If the day before is impossible, send the desk your flight number and date and we review that departure case by case, in writing.
Can I fly in the same morning the boat leaves?
It is a case-by-case review, not something the desk promises. A shared open trip runs to its schedule for everyone on board, so the boat cannot wait for a late aircraft. Send the flight number and date; a team member checks it against that day’s departure and tells you whether it is workable. On a private charter the departure time is set around you.
Should I book the boat cabin or the flights first?
The cabin. Open trip departures follow a fixed weekly pattern and cabins are allocated in real time, while flights to Labuan Bajo can be bought for almost any date. Ask for availability, let the desk place the 2×24-hour hold and send the deposit link, and buy the tickets once the deposit has secured the cabin.
Can I fly back to Bali the same afternoon my trip ends?
Yes, on a flight departing at 14:00 or later. The boat docks between 11:00 and 12:00 at the latest on day three, the drive to Komodo Airport takes 10 to 15 minutes and drop-off is included. The rule applies to Bali and Jakarta alike; for an international nonstop, check that it departs after 14:00.
