Komodo Boat Charter Cost 2026-2027: Every Published Rate, Explained

Komodo Prestige by Komodo Luxury

Last updated: September 2026 · Prices & availability verified for the 2026/2027 season

A Komodo boat charter costs anywhere from USD 90 per person for a shared speedboat day trip to USD 30,000 per night for the whole of the 78.2-metre flagship Komodo Signature. The price depends on one thing above all: whether you join a shared departure (priced per person) or take a whole boat privately (priced per boat, as a package by trip length and guest band on most vessel pages, or per night on the vessels that publish a nightly rate). Every figure below is taken from the rate card or package table of the vessel page or package page named, as published for 2026 and checked on 11 September 2026. Where a vessel page does not yet publish 2027 rates, 2027 departures are quoted on request.

Quick answer (2026 published rates): A Komodo boat charter costs USD 90 per person for a shared speedboat day trip, from USD 300 per person for a shared 3D2N phinisi cabin, and from USD 1,800 per night for a whole private phinisi. The phinisi owned and operated by Komodo Luxury are sold as whole-boat packages, 2D1N from USD 4,900 on Pinta Phinisi (1 to 4 guests) to USD 8,900 on Neptune Cruise (1 to 14 guests), with Mosalaki at USD 7,850 per night on its 2026 rate row; VVIP and superyacht partners are quoted per package or per night on each vessel page (Kayra from USD 7,000 per night, King Neptune from USD 20,000 per night, VAT where the vessel page says so); the two flagships are USD 25,000 and 30,000 per yacht per night. The park ticket is always extra.

  • Basis: shared trips are priced per person; private charters per boat. On the vessel pages the from-rate in the page head is the 2D1N whole-boat package price, and longer trips have their own package figure by guest band, so a 3D2N private charter is the page’s 3D2N package figure for your guest band, not a nightly figure doubled.
  • Entry points: shared speedboat USD 90 per person; open trip 3D2N from USD 300 per person (weekday sailings from USD 220); whole boat from USD 1,800 per night.
  • Never included: park entry and activity charges, drinks, tips and flights. Park entry and activity charges are quoted separately for your itinerary. Ask our reservations desk for an itemised breakdown of government charges and any additional services before confirming.
  • Booking: a 50% deposit secures the boat and the balance is due 30 days before departure (14 days on open trip cabins); availability is confirmed by the reservations desk.
  • Best value per head: on the published 3D2N packages, a whole VIP phinisi such as Malca Voyages (USD 6,000 for 1 to 12 guests) or Catnazse Liveaboard (USD 7,100 for 1 to 12 guests) is one package price shared by everyone aboard, so the per-head cost is the package divided by your group.

Shared or private: the basis decides the bill

Two guests pay very different sums for the same three days depending on the format. On a Komodo open trip you buy one cabin on a scheduled phinisi, so the total for a couple is two cabin rates, each from USD 300 per person at the published floor. On a private yacht charter Komodo you buy the whole vessel for the trip, so the same couple pays the boat’s published 3D2N package price: USD 6,000 on Malca Voyages, a package that covers up to 12 guests.

The equation flips as the group grows. A cabin rate never falls, but a whole-boat rate is divided by every guest who steps aboard. The crossover sits around eight to twelve guests on a VIP phinisi, which is why families and friend groups tend to charter while solo travellers and couples tend to share. The worked comparison in private charter vs open trip cost per person takes the arithmetic further; the table further down does it for the named boats.

How much is a 3 day 2 night (3D2N) Komodo trip?

On a shared 3D2N open trip you pay USD 300 to 850 per person depending on the boat and cabin class, or from USD 220 per person on the Monday to Wednesday sailings. A private 3D2N charter is priced per boat per trip, by guest band, and each vessel page publishes a fixed 2026 package price before park charges and any taxes stated on the vessel page: Malca Voyages USD 6,000 for up to 12 guests and USD 6,700 for 13 to 18, plus USD 300 per extra guest up to its 21-guest capacity; Catnazse Liveaboard USD 7,100 for up to 12 and USD 8,000 for 13 to 18; Ayvara Cruises USD 6,200 for up to 8 and USD 7,000 for 9 to 15; Pinta Phinisi USD 6,800 for up to 4, USD 7,150 for 5 to 9 and USD 7,450 for 10 to 13, with USD 250 per additional guest listed; Naturalia USD 8,200, 9,200 and 10,100 for 1 to 8, 9 to 16 and 17 to 24 guests; Neptune Cruise USD 11,450 for up to 14 plus USD 500 per additional guest; Mosalaki IDR 152,000,000 for up to 6 and IDR 167,000,000 for 7 to 12. Longer itineraries are published the same way: Pinta Phinisi lists 4D3N at USD 8,400 to 9,350 and 7D6N at USD 13,800 to 15,050 by band; Catnazse 4D3N at USD 10,600 or 12,000 and 7D6N at USD 21,300 or 23,900; Neptune Cruise 4D3N at USD 14,000 (plus USD 500 per extra guest) and 7D6N at USD 20,950 (plus USD 550) for up to 14 guests.

As a partner-yacht example booked through the Komodo Luxury reservations desk, Elbark Cruise publishes 3D2N at USD 9,650 for the whole boat for 1 to 10 guests, or USD 400 to 700 per person in a cabin on its shared departures. The two figures describe the same boat and the same route; only the basis differs.

Package prices on the named boats (3D2N, whole boat)

The table lists each vessel page’s published 3D2N private-trip package price (2026, per boat per trip, by guest band, before park charges and any taxes stated on the vessel page). No vessel page publishes a per-person figure for a private charter: the package for your band is one price shared by everyone aboard, so the per-head cost is that package divided by your group, plus any per-guest supplement above the top band. Seven of the boats are owned and operated by Komodo Luxury; Komodo Prestige and Komodo Signature form the Komodo Luxury Collection and publish per-yacht-per-night rates only, so they are not in this table. Figures are before park charges, any drone permit and any taxes stated on the vessel page, and each row states the vessel’s published capacity.

  • Boat: Pinta Phinisi (13 guests). 3D2N package, per boat (USD unless stated): 6,800 for 1 to 4; 7,150 for 5 to 9; 7,450 for 10 to 13; plus 250 per additional guest as listed; published capacity 13 guests.
  • Boat: Malca Voyages (21 guests). 3D2N package, per boat (USD unless stated): 6,000 for 1 to 12; 6,700 for 13 to 18; plus 300 per guest above 18; published capacity 21 guests.
  • Boat: Ayvara Cruises (15 guests). 3D2N package, per boat (USD unless stated): 6,200 for 1 to 8; 7,000 for 9 to 15; published capacity 15 guests.
  • Boat: Catnazse Liveaboard (18 guests). 3D2N package, per boat (USD unless stated): 7,100 for 1 to 12; 8,000 for 13 to 18; published capacity 18 guests.
  • Boat: Mosalaki (12 guests). 3D2N package, per boat (USD unless stated): IDR 152,000,000 for 1 to 6; IDR 167,000,000 for 7 to 12 (the package table is published in IDR; the same page prices the whole boat at USD 7,850 per night on its 2026 rate row); published capacity 12 guests.
  • Boat: Naturalia (24 guests). 3D2N package, per boat (USD unless stated): 8,200 for 1 to 8; 9,200 for 9 to 16; 10,100 for 17 to 24; published capacity 24 guests.
  • Boat: Neptune Cruise (20 guests). 3D2N package, per boat (USD unless stated): 11,450 for 1 to 14; plus 500 per guest above 14; published capacity 20 guests.

Komodo Prestige (USD 25,000 per yacht per night) and Komodo Signature (USD 30,000 per yacht per night) publish nightly rates only; a 3D2N total is quoted on request by the reservations desk.

Read across any row and the pattern is the same: the package price for your band is fixed whether two or twelve guests board, so the per-head share falls with every guest you add. A full boat on Malca Voyages (USD 6,700 for 13 to 18 guests, plus USD 300 per guest above 18 up to its 21-guest capacity) or on Naturalia (USD 10,100 for 17 to 24 guests, with private balconies and bathtubs in the upper cabins) spreads one published package across the largest group the vessel page allows.

What the rate includes and what it never includes

Every whole-boat rate on the vessel pages carries the same core inclusions, and the same exclusions. Nothing in the second list is optional on the day, so add it to your budget before you compare boats.

Included in the published whole-boat rate

  • Accommodation on board for the whole trip, in en-suite cabins
  • All meals during the trip, prepared by the boat’s chef, with mineral water, coffee and tea
  • A guide, snorkelling gear and life vests
  • Premium photo and video documentation with drone, GoPro and mirrorless cameras (raw footage only)
  • Pick-up and drop-off between your hotel or the airport and the harbour, within the Labuan Bajo mainland area

Never included

  • Komodo National Park entry and activity charges: quoted separately for your itinerary; the reservations desk arranges them and itemises the government charges on the quotation
  • Drone ticket for the park: estimated IDR 2,100,000 per drone per day as listed on the vessel pages, not mandatory, permit requested at least 7 days before the trip
  • Alcohol and other drinks beyond water, coffee and tea; personal snacks
  • Crew gratuities and flights to Labuan Bajo
  • Taxes and fees as stated on the vessel page and quotation; VVIP and superyacht listings marked ‘+ VAT’ carry VAT on top of the nightly rate, and for every vessel the tax treatment is confirmed in writing before payment
  • Diving, quoted as an add-on for certified divers

Why prices differ between boats

Length, cabin count, build year and service tier drive the rate. Ayvara Cruises, a 25-metre, 7-cabin phinisi for 15 guests, lists from USD 5,500 for a 2D1N whole-boat package (1 to 8 guests); Neptune Cruise, a 40-metre phinisi with a larger deck plan and a dive deck, lists from USD 8,900 for 2D1N (1 to 14 guests). Naturalia, the newest of the group and built in 2026, sits between them from USD 7,400 for 2D1N for up to 8 guests, rising to USD 9,200 for 17 to 24 guests across three decks. Pinta Phinisi, from USD 4,900 for 2D1N (1 to 4 guests) on its 2026 package table, is the entry to the named group because it is a compact 5-cabin boat for 13.

Season matters as much as steel and teak. Peak months (June to September) and the New Year window are priced higher, and the private charter page notes that charters of 7 nights or more typically receive a 10 to 15% better nightly rate. Well-known boats are usually committed months ahead for July, August and New Year; whether a specific date is open is confirmed by the reservations desk, not by any calendar on this page.

Deposit, balance and holds

A private charter is confirmed with a 50% deposit, which the vessel pages state is non-refundable if the guest cancels. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before the trip. For bookings made a year in advance the terms are staged: 30% on confirmation, a further 20% 120 days before departure, and the balance 30 days before. Children aged 3 and above are charged the full rate.

Open trip cabins follow a shorter clock: payment is completed 14 days before departure and is non-refundable and non-changeable, and cancellations made 30 days or less before departure forfeit the full payment. In force majeure, weather, safety or government restrictions, a trip may be changed or cancelled without refund, so travel insurance that covers cancellation is worth arranging on the day you pay the deposit.

A date is held only once the deposit is received. Before that, a shortlist from the reservations desk shows what is open on the day you ask, and the rates hub states that USD rates hold at booking, so the figure on your written quotation is the figure that applies.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Komodo boat charter cost per night in 2026?

A whole private boat runs from USD 1,800 per night at the entry floor to USD 30,000 per night for Komodo Signature. The phinisi owned and operated by Komodo Luxury are sold as whole-boat packages, 2D1N from USD 4,900 on Pinta Phinisi (1 to 4 guests) to USD 8,900 on Neptune Cruise (1 to 14 guests), with Mosalaki at USD 7,850 per night on its 2026 rate row, and Komodo Prestige lists USD 25,000 per yacht per night. These are 2026 published rates checked 11 September 2026; 2027 departures are quoted on request unless the vessel page publishes 2027 rates.

Is the Komodo charter price per person or per boat?

Private charters are priced per boat, by guest band rather than per head: Malca Voyages shows from USD 5,300 as a 2D1N whole-boat package (Malca Voyages, 1–12 guests; 3D2N from USD 6,000) in its page head, and its 2026 private-trip package table lists 2D1N at USD 5,300 for 1 to 12 guests and USD 6,000 for 13 to 18, and 3D2N at USD 6,000 and USD 6,700 for the same bands, plus a per-guest supplement above 18 up to its 21-guest capacity, as published on the vessel page. Shared trips are the reverse. A speedboat day trip is USD 90 per person and an open trip cabin is from USD 300 per person per voyage, so the boat’s total is irrelevant to you.

What is the lowest-cost way to see Komodo by boat?

For one or two people, a shared departure: the speedboat day trip at USD 90 per person, or a 3D2N open trip cabin from USD 300 per person, from USD 220 on Monday to Wednesday sailings. With 12 guests, a whole VIP phinisi on its published 3D2N package (Malca Voyages USD 6,000 or Catnazse Liveaboard USD 7,100, each covering 1 to 12 guests) is one package price shared by everyone aboard, so the per-head cost is the package divided by your group, with the boat to yourselves.

What is not included in a Komodo boat charter rate?

Park entry and activity charges are quoted separately for your itinerary. Ask our reservations desk for an itemised breakdown of government charges and any additional services before confirming. Also outside the rate: an optional drone ticket, estimated at IDR 2,100,000 per drone per day on the vessel pages and requested at least 7 days before the trip, alcohol and drinks beyond water, coffee and tea, crew gratuities, flights, and taxes and fees as stated on the vessel page and quotation.

How much deposit is needed, and when is the balance due?

A 50% deposit secures a private charter and is non-refundable; the balance is due no later than 30 days before the trip. For bookings made a year ahead the vessel pages set 30% on confirmation, a further 20% 120 days before departure and the balance 30 days before. Open trip cabins take a deposit with the balance 14 days before departure.

Are 2027 Komodo charter prices higher than 2026?

The figures on this page are 2026 published rates checked 11 September 2026. Unless a vessel page publishes a 2027 rate, 2027 departures are quoted on request by the reservations desk. The rates hub states that USD rates hold at booking, so a confirmed deposit fixes the quoted figure; peak July to August and New Year dates carry a premium in either year.
