A marine park of small islands off the north coast, explored by local boat from Riung harbour: shallow-reef snorkeling, empty beaches and the flying-fox mangroves of Ontoloe. Because it sits between Bajawa and Ende, it turns a transit day into the sea day of the overland route — and because almost no one detours here, you will often have an entire island’s beach to your group alone. The water is calm and shallow, which makes Riung the easiest snorkeling day on Flores for children and first-timers.
