Komodo Signature

A 78.2 m mastless wooden superyacht with ten private balcony suites for 20 guests.

Komodo Signature is part of the Komodo Luxury Collection, owned and operated by Komodo Luxury, and the sister ship of Komodo Prestige. She measures 78.2 m on a 13.8 m beam. Her design departs from the traditional phinisi silhouette: masts and heavy rigging were removed to open the deck volume for uninterrupted outdoor space, a rooftop chill pool and a formal indoor dining room. Each of the ten suites has floor-to-ceiling glass doors sliding onto its own balcony, finished in white wood with hand-carved detail. She sails with a full crew, a cruise director and a private chef, boarding in Labuan Bajo for Komodo and in Sorong for Raja Ampat.

A 66 m mastless phinisi with eight ocean-view balcony suites and an all-white coastal interior.

Komodo Prestige is part of the Komodo Luxury Collection, owned and operated by Komodo Luxury. She is built, maintained, crewed and operated directly by the Komodo Luxury team. At 66 m on a 13.8 m beam she follows the same mastless approach as her sister ship: masts and rigging were deliberately left out for a clean profile. The eight suites face the sea, each with floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony, and the interior is all white with marble accents and champagne hardware. An air-conditioned saloon, wide outdoor lounges and a sunset-facing Jacuzzi deck complete the plan. She charters from Labuan Bajo and Sorong.

A 33.45 m Bulukumba-built phinisi, 161 GT, with eight en-suite cabins for 24 guests over three decks.

Naturalia was built in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi, where yards have built phinisi for generations, and measures 33.45 m by 6 m at 161 gross tonnes. Accommodation runs over three guest decks: five balcony cabins on the upper and main decks and three porthole cabins below, with Azure and Sandal carrying a private bathtub and Aurea a balcony Jacuzzi. An indoor dining room and bar sits alongside the outdoor dining deck, and she is sized for extended cruising at 7 to 9 knots.

A 34.4 m wooden phinisi with eight cabins for 18 guests, led by two balcony suites with bathtubs.

Catnazse carries a family plan: two balcony suites with bathtubs above, two four-berth cabins below. At 34.4 m by 6.3 m, her eight cabins run from the two Santalum suites with king beds, private balconies and bathtubs, through two Grandis deluxe cabins and two Grandis family cabins sleeping four, to two Cafasa superior cabins. A sun deck, an indoor dining room with bar and an outdoor chill space serve the eight cabins, and she cruises at 7 to 10 knots.

Ayvara

A 25 m vessel with seven sea-view queen cabins, a 360-degree rooftop deck and Starlink, in charter service since August 2025.

In charter service since 1 August 2025, Ayvara carries seven sea-view cabins on a 25 m by 5.6 m hull. Each cabin has a 160 by 200 cm queen bed, and the master and both deluxe cabins open onto private balconies. The full 360-degree rooftop deck is the defining space, with a sun deck below. Starlink internet is fitted, and she cruises at 9 to 10 knots.

Four of Lamborajo III's eight cabins carry a private Jacuzzi on the balcony. She is a partner yacht, booked through the Komodo Luxury reservations desk. At 38 m by 6.8 m in ironwood and teak, she takes 22 guests: two Royal Master and two Master Ocean cabins with private balcony, sea view and Jacuzzi, and four superior porthole cabins below. The top deck carries a Jacuzzi and sun loungers, the bar and restaurant seat 19 and the outdoor lounge 10, and she cruises at 7 to 10 knots on a Mitsubishi eight-cylinder main engine.

How Komodo Luxury commissions a vessel: five stages

Every commissioning engagement follows the stages the Boat Services desk publishes. The vessels above are the record of that path in practice.

  1. Consultation, brief and design

    Intended use, guest capacity, route and budget band are locked before any drawing is made. Layouts, styling and specifications follow through the Boat Design desk.

  2. Yard selection and contract

    The project is matched to the right builders, drawing on South Sulawesi's phinisi craft, and structured under a written, milestone-based contract.

  3. Build supervision

    Staged payments are tied to verified progress, with regular reporting through the Boat Construction desk from Labuan Bajo.

  4. Sea trials, registration and handover

    Independent survey at key stages, then certification and flagging completed before delivery.

  5. Operations, on request

    Crew, maintenance and charter placement through Boat Management and the built-in charter market, by the same team that supervised the build.

Phinisi, gross tonnage and length overall, defined

Phinisi (also written pinisi)
The traditional wooden sailing vessel of South Sulawesi, built by hand at yards such as those in Bulukumba. Modern charter phinisi keep the wooden hull and rig form and add engines, generators, en-suite cabins and navigation systems.
Length overall (LOA)
The full length of the hull from bow to stern. Where a brochure and a drawing publish different figures, both are shown with their source and are not merged.
Gross tonnage (GT)
A measure of the vessel’s enclosed volume, not its weight; it is used for registration and certification.
General arrangement (GA) and deck plan
The architect’s drawing of each deck: cabins, saloons, dining, crew spaces and tanks. Shown here where the owner brochure publishes one.
Cabin mix
The cabin categories, quantities and berths per cabin as published. The published guest capacity of the vessel is a separate figure and governs how many guests she carries.
Operating arrangement
Who operates the vessel: the Komodo Luxury Collection is owned and operated by Komodo Luxury; other vessels are listed in the charter fleet or are partner yachts booked through the reservations desk.

Why commission through a builder-operator

Build supervision is the core service. Management and charter placement are optional and separately scoped; when an owner takes them up, the team that supervised the build is the team that runs the vessel.

Continuity

The team that supervises your build can be the same team that later manages your crew and plans your maintenance calendar. With that option there is no hand-off between a contractor and an operator, so decisions made at the drawing stage are answered for at sea.

Supervision from where she will operate

Bulukumba craftsmanship is paired with staged build supervision from Labuan Bajo, then registration and operations after launch. Every recommendation on hull material, cabin count or crew size is informed by what performs on charter every day.

A live charter market

Delivered vessels are placed in front of charter demand through Komodo Luxury's built-in charter market across Komodo National Park, Raja Ampat and wider Indonesia, with charter placement available on request as part of operations.

For investors

Build-to-charter for investors: new build or acquisition

Komodo Luxury structures build-to-charter programmes end to end. A new build, or an acquisition, is designed and specified around how the vessel will actually be used. It is matched to the right yard, supervised through construction, and delivered registered and certified. After handover, on request, the same team handles crew, maintenance and charter placement. The timeline is the build period plus charter onboarding, which is season-dependent; both are set out in writing for each project rather than quoted from a general range.

What determines the cost of a new build?

Length, materials, on-board systems such as engines, generators, water and navigation, the cabin plan and the certification the vessel needs for commercial charter all drive the cost. Where are the vessels built?

Of the eight vessels on this page, a build yard is published for one: Naturalia, built in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi. The yards for the other seven are not stated on their pages or brochures. Who operates the vessel after delivery?

Can an investor visit the yard during the build?

Ask the Boat Construction desk. Whether a visit is possible depends on the yard and the build stage; the regular reporting and independent survey at planking, systems installation and sea trials run whether or not an owner attends.

How does charter placement work?

Charter placement is part of the operations stage, available on request after handover. The vessel is placed in front of live charter demand through Komodo Luxury’s built-in charter market across Komodo National Park, Raja Ampat and wider Indonesia, with crew, maintenance and guest management handled by the operating team. Each project’s arrangement is set out in writing; no occupancy or income figure is stated.
