Neomi Cruise is a 47,22-metre Buginese phinisi schooner built from ironwood and, as her owners put it, designed by divers. A Cummins KTTA-19 moves her at 9 knots between Sorong, the Dampier Strait, Piaynemo and Misool, backed by two Mitsubishi 150 kVA generators, a 14 ton water tank and a water maker producing 10.000 litres a day. She takes 20 guests in 10 cabins spread across three decks, and the Raja Ampat programme runs 7 days and 6 nights out of Sorong, with up to three dives a day plus a night dive, and trekking at Piaynemo and the birds of paradise at Sawingkrai. Private charter of Neomi Liveaboard starts from USD 7,100 per night.
Every cabin on Neomi has its own bathroom with a basin and a hot and cold shower, air conditioning and a television, and the master cabin adds a freestanding bathtub and a private balcony. The boat is laid out for long days in the water: a dedicated dive deck with compressor and nitrox, a camera station with individual work spaces, and two aluminium tenders on Yamaha four strokes to run divers onto the site. The air-conditioned restaurant carries a 55 inch screen and touch-screen karaoke, three chiller cabinets for wine, beer and soft drinks, an espresso machine and a guest kitchen, while outside there are two jacuzzis that each seat four, a shaded middle deck lounge and a sun deck. Safety equipment runs to two life rafts for 25 people each, 50 life jackets and ring buoys, a satellite phone and the ENOS diver locator system.
