Rinca Island is the second home of the Komodo dragon — and the easier place to see one. Loh Buaya & the Elevated Walkway
Rinca’s visitor experience was rebuilt around an elevated boardwalk that loops the Loh Buaya valley: you walk above the dry riverbed where dragons patrol, past nesting mounds and waterbuffalo wallows, with rangers leading at ground level on the connecting trails. The elevation changes the psychology — you observe dragons behaving like dragons instead of dragons surrounded by a semicircle of phones.
