Jeeva Samudera is a luxury phinisi built by hand in teak and ironwood, and among the newest boats offering a Komodo liveaboard under private charter. She sails as a whole-yacht Komodo boat charter only, one party at a time, and that is what separates her from a shared Komodo Island liveaboard: the climb at Padar before the day boats arrive, the dragons on Rinca, the manta cleaning stations in the channels, and an anchorage chosen for the evening rather than a timetable. Meals, dive plans and shore time are built around your group. Every Komodo yacht charter aboard her begins and ends in Labuan Bajo, the gateway to Komodo National Park.
Indoors, an air-conditioned saloon holds the bar, the lounge and the dining table. Outdoors there are three levels to choose from: a sheltered dining deck for meals under way, a yoga deck that catches the early light at anchor, and a top deck of sun loungers for the run between islands. Starlink keeps the phinisi online wherever coverage reaches, still uncommon on a Komodo liveaboard.
Two 7-metre RIB tenders carry guests to the ranger jetties on Rinca and Komodo and drop snorkellers and divers onto the reef. Stowed on board are sea scooters, water skis, a wakeboard, two stand-up paddle boards, four two-person kayaks and towable inflatables, along with snorkelling and diving equipment, fishing tackle and a GoPro. Evenings open onto a floating platform and an outdoor cinema, while the crew sets up beach picnics, BBQs and beach dinners ashore. As on any Komodo National Park liveaboard, use of the kit depends on weather and sea conditions.
