De hoofdceremonie bestaat uit Barong Wae, Barong Oka en Roi Boa, waarbij in de Rumah Gendang en bij een bron offers worden gebracht om de geesten uit te nodigen om deel te nemen aan het feest. Een ander hoogtepunt van het festival is Caci, een traditionele vechtkunst waarbij twee mannen met zwepen en schilden tegen elkaar strijden. De hele nacht tot in de ochtend worden er zonder instrumenten Sanda-liederen gezongen als eerbetoon aan de geesten van hun voorouders. Penti is een moment om eenheid en dankbaarheid te vieren en de spirituele band met de natuur en hun voorouders te onderhouden.
