Padar Island is located in the south-central section of Komodo National Park, in the West Manggarai Regency of East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. The island sits between Komodo Island to the northwest and Rinca Island to the east, at approximately 8.66°S, 119.57°E. It lies approximately 30 to 40 kilometres from Labuan Bajo, the main gateway town on Flores Island, and is accessible only by sea. As part of Komodo National Park, Padar sits within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Man and Biosphere Reserve, reflecting its importance as a protected natural area.
