For most travelers, the best time for a Komodo sailing trip is from April to November, when seas are generally calmer, rain is minimal, and snorkeling and diving visibility are at their best. May to September offers the most classic “blue sky and flat sea” conditions, with stable trade winds that are ideal for traditional phinisi sailing, but this is also peak season, so it’s wise to book at least 3–4 months in advance.
Outside peak months, shoulder periods like April, October, and early November often bring good weather with fewer boats and better value. During parts of the wetter season (roughly December to March), conditions can be more variable but you’ll find fewer crowds, greener island landscapes, and, at certain times, especially active manta encounters at sites such as Manta Point — a great option for adventurous guests who prioritize wildlife over perfectly predictable weather.
