Komodo Airport (code LBJ) in Labuan Bajo is the only airport serving Komodo National Park. It sits roughly ten to fifteen minutes by car from the marina, which makes it one of the most convenient gateway airports in Indonesia: land mid-morning and you can be standing at the harbour before lunch. The airport holds international status, but in practice nearly all traffic arrives on domestic flights, with Bali acting as the long-haul connection hub for travellers from Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas.

The Bali (DPS) to Labuan Bajo route is the workhorse of Komodo travel. Yes. Direct flights from Jakarta (CGK) take roughly two and a half hours and suit travellers beginning their Indonesian journey in the capital. Frequency is lower than on the Bali route, so seats on preferred departure times fill earlier in high season. Arrive the day before your cruise departs. This is the standing advice we give every guest, and it exists for a simple reason: Komodo boats board in the morning, and a same-day inbound flight leaves no margin for a delay, a missed connection in Bali, or slow baggage. Flying in the afternoon before turns a fragile itinerary into a relaxed one.
An evening in town is no hardship. Translated into flight strategy: for April–August sailings, secure your LBJ flights as soon as your cruise date is confirmed, since preferred morning departures from Bali are the first to fill.
