Bali to Komodo has one shape: fly direct from Ngurah Rai (DPS) to Komodo Airport, Labuan Bajo (LBJ), about 1 hour 15 minutes, then board a boat at Labuan Bajo harbour for Komodo National Park. For most visitors there is no scheduled passenger boat from Bali; the sea leg starts in Labuan Bajo. Komodo Luxury (Labuan Bajo, since 2015) arranges that sequence every week through its reservations desk. Choose the boat mode first, because that is where the cost moves. A cabin on a scheduled shared 3D2N sailing starts from USD 300 per person (Malca, 2026 and 2027 rate). A private charter of the whole boat starts from USD 6,000 per 3D2N package (Malca, 1 to 12 guests; 2026 and 2027 rate cards, Final Edition 11 September 2026, checked 24 September 2026). The fly-and-sail package, built on a private charter, adds Bali hotel transfers, flights and airport handling at both ends. It comes as one quotation and one total from the desk, from USD 5,000 per person. Park charges are quoted separately. For most visitors there is no scheduled passenger boat from Bali; the sea leg starts at Labuan Bajo harbour, about 10 to 15 minutes from the terminal. Our reservations desk recommends arriving in Labuan Bajo one day before the boat. On departure day the driver collects you from your Labuan Bajo hotel between 08:00 and 09:00. The desk confirms the window in a WhatsApp group the evening before. If your flight lands on the morning of departure, ask the desk to confirm the connection in writing before you buy the ticket; a same-day landing is assessed date by date, never assumed.

A Komodo open trip is a scheduled shared sailing of three days and two nights, sold per cabin, on a fixed Friday-to-Sunday or Monday-to-Wednesday rhythm. On our four boats it starts from USD 300 per person (Malca Triple cabin, three sharing, 2026 and 2027 rate). The cabin is en-suite and air-conditioned, and all meals, snorkelling equipment and the full 3D2N itinerary are included. For a couple it works out lower per person than a private charter; the trade is a fixed departure day and other guests on board. Park charges are quoted separately.

Private Phinisi Charters (from USD 6,000 per 3D2N charter, whole boat)

A private charter is the whole boat for your group alone, priced per package by guest band, on dates you choose. Guest count sets the band. On our published rate card the 3D2N package starts from USD 6,000 (Malca, 1 to 12 guests) and USD 6,200 (Ayvara, 1 to 8 guests). Both are identical on the 2026 and 2027 rate cards (Final Edition, 11 September 2026; checked 24 September 2026). We do not quote it by the night. En-suite cabins, your own itinerary within the park rules, and a crew and chef serving one party define this option. It suits families, couples who want privacy, and groups of six or more, who share the whole-boat rate across everyone on board. Park charges are quoted separately.

July through September sees maximum demand for Komodo boat charters. Our guests book about two months ahead. Dates are managed one by one; availability is confirmed at registration and in writing. The best time to visit Komodo covers seasonal considerations in detail, including the shoulder months.

Komodo package pricing varies enormously in what's included. Always confirm: Komodo National Park entrance tickets (set by government regulation, PP 36/2024 as displayed by the Balai, and confirmed by our desk as its own line per person on your invoice), ranger fees, meals, snorkeling equipment, dive costs (charged separately from most packages), and boat transfer fees. Under PP 36/2024 as displayed by the Balai the park charge is IDR 250,000 per international visitor per day and IDR 50,000 per Indonesian visitor per day (IDR 75,000 on Sundays and public holidays). Since 22 September 2026 entry is only on the e-ticket date. Quota is confirmed at registration, never promised, so ask for written confirmation of your sailing dates before you buy flights.
